We CAN all get along!

Continuing my exploration of a variety of materials and their interaction I now arrive at “White V”. Although, as the number indicates, I have done five paintings in this style, some of the materials are the same but others make themselves known (and appreciated). I am beginning to feel like a bungie jumper: I have my fears – and yet I dare; I am not sure how far my jump will take me but I keep my eyes wide open and jump anyway.

Every painting takes me to tight alleys, vast expanses, unknown depths – both aesthetically and technically. Apart from learning to find solutions to “situations” at almost every step and having fun in the process, I am getting to know myself better: what stops me, how I react to an unexpected wrong turn, how much am I willing to challenge myself, etc. What I do notice is that when I am involved with “the Whites” I don’t care what the Joneses are doing and even if the world is still turning! The dialogue among the materials and how they get along (or not) leads me to total immersion and an increasingly better understanding of how they interact.

“White V” features two types of pastes, copper leaf, encaustics, oils, varied stones, powders, acrylics, a variety of water-based paints both flat an iridescent. Other, new materials, wait in line for the next White.

Stay tuned.

“White V” is available. It is quietly (but not boringly) rich and deep while maintaining a Zen-like posture.
